Danielle Green is the mother of three beautiful daughters (Tia, Alyssa, and Makala). With a passion for positively affect the lives of girls everywhere, Danielle started the Pretty Girl Movement. The movement empowers, unites and celebrates Pretty Girls everywhere by redefining the meaning of a Pretty Girl.
Through the Pretty Girl Movement the Hey Girl book series was born: Hey Pretty Girl, Hey Smart Girl, Hey Super Girl, Hey Birthday Girl, Hey Daddy’s Girl, Hey Momma’s Girl, and Hey Special Girl.
As a life-long educator, Ms. Green is a member of the Flint Community School Board. She is a Board of Trustee member of the YWCA of Greater Flint. Danielle founded and directs a non-profit organization, Empower. The mission of Empower is to improve the lives of youth and offer opportunities for girls and women by developing their capabilities through education, encouragement, and exposure.
Danielle graduated from Mott Community College with a General Studies degree. She went on to receive a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Community Development from Central Michigan University. She is presently completing her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership at Wayne State University.
Ms. Green has received numerous awards for her works, including Community Dedication award, Phenomenal Woman award, Top 25 Women in Business award, Courageous Women award, and honored as one of the Women Moving Flint Forward. She also received the honor of proclamation from the city of Flint recognizing November 8th as Danielle Green Day.
